Lábod
Lábod, Somogy megye - Hungary
About the Calvinist school of the settlement there are some writtings from the 19. century, and about the Catholic from the 20. century. After the World War II the Széchenyi Castle gave place to the school. In 1974 a new, modern institute was built, which insures the education for 300 pupils, while in the kindergarden 100 children are looked after. The cultural house, built in the 60s, gives place the events, clubs and associations, there can be found the library of 4000 books as well and the local studio of satellite television. The fire-work association has been functioning since 1886, there are a bachelor club, the ladies club, the football association, the tennis club, the fitness club, the equestrian club and the national guard.
There is a vivid sport life: there are possibility to play football and tennis, orr ide a horse for visitors coming to Lábod. Lábod is a hospitable settlement. It welcomes its guests with comfortable accommodations, gastronomical specialities and interesting sights. Hunting, horse riding, the otter park, the near forrset school attract many guests.
The landscape house of Rinya nations and the Roman chapel of 1300 are interesting sights. Hiking routes drive to these sights from the village centre, and most of them can be reached by car as well. The hunter day, which attracts more thousand guests, the meeting of associacitions, which is connected with a cooking championship and the vintage entertainment are famous feasts of the village
