5th Wine Village 2008 2008-08-19 - 2008-08-24 Budapest Felvonulási Square
The six-day series of events of the 5th Wine Village starts on Tuesday, 19 August. In the Felvonulási square the focus will be on the Hungarian wine villages, wine, music and the good atmosphere.
Opening times: Every day 12.00-24.00 Day pass: 1500 HUF 5-day pass: 7000 HUF
The price of a daily ticket includes one tasting glass with the logo of the event. For disabled people and children under the age of 12 the enrty is free.
Review of Hungarian Wine Villages – 5th Wine Village in Budapest
Apart from tasting over several hundred wines of more, than 100 wineries, visitors of the event can get to know several other delicious specialities, including palinkas and traditional Hungarian dishes. Cheese and meat specialities and gastronomic delicacies will also be on offer, including truffle oil, jams, “gezemice”, “langalló”, pastry horns, rose bread, carrot cake and others. Children can take part in the drawing competition, while their parents can vote for the best wines in the wine competition. To ensure the good atmosphere, not only the Wine Village Gipsy Band, but other well-known musicians will play during the six days. Thursday evening’s evening snacks and wine will be accompanied by the Szekszárd Junior Stars Big Band; on Friday Tom White and Friends will provide rockabilly music for the night; while on Saturday evening a 2-hour street party will be given by the Bergendy Concert, Dance, Jazz, and Salon Orchestra. During the six days altogether 19 groups will take part in providing a colourful cavalcade of music for visitors: blues, jazz, funky and rock-and-roll welcome anybody who visits the 5th Wine Village in Budapest.
