The traditions of St. Martin’s day have been significant for centuries. Nowadays, these customs of the day connected to the new wine and geese have been reviving. In the most important wine regions of Hungary, the wine-growers consider the birth and presentation of the new wine a memorable event. The aim of the Festival of the New Wine on St Martin’s day is to create the possibility for the wine-growers to appear before the public yearly with the new wine and at the same time serving as a program, where the visitors can get to know the traditions, message and taste of Martin’s day. From the new wines we organise an exhibition and fair in the covered and heated yard of the Inn, here different dishes prepared from geese and other delicacies can be tasted.. The visitors can relive the atmosphere of the free autumn time after the works on the fields and take part in the fun of the autumn community works.
